11. Money
The romantic side of me feels like plants are above money. A reprieve from it’s perceived constraints, and an antidote to the pain it can cause. Perhaps in a way they are, but in so many other ways they’re not. Plants are a commodity. We can put a value on plants sold in nurseries, flowers sold in florists, and vegetables from the greengrocer. But once the transaction is over and the plant is planted, placed in a vase, eaten, does its value change?
